Given :

  • Mass of the desk (m) = 100 kg
  • Acceleration upwards (a) = 2 m/s²

To Find :

  • Force by the elevator (f)

Solution :

It's given that, the object of mass 100kg is transported in an elevator which is accelerating upwards at 2m/s².

Formula to be used ,

\underline{\boxed{\sf Force = Mass \times Acceleration}}

Given that ,

  • Mass = 100 kg
  • Acceleration = 2m/s²

Substituting values ,

\Rightarrow \sf F = M \times a

 \Rightarrow \sf F = 100 \times 2

 \Rightarrow \sf F = 200 N

Required Answer :

Reaction Force on the object by the floor of the elevator is  \underline{ \sf 200 N}
