A device, which generally does not use a magnet, is a geyser.

  • The geyser is a device that uses the natural phenomena of heating. It works based on the heating of water and steam eruption from the ground. So here no magnets are required for its work.
  • A CD player requires magnets since it needs electromagnetic waves to function. It can easily transfer audio waves.
  • A telephone also requires a magnet since it needs electromagnetic waves to travel calls and audio to longer distances.
  • The electric motor used requires a magnet since an electromagnetic field helps in producing an electric field and converts it to mechanical energy for the motor to work.
  • So we can say that Geyser does not use a magnet to function.
