First of all make all the values into cm......
3 metre = 3×100 = 300cm
1.5 metre = 1.5×100 = 150cm
now find the area of the dhoti......
which is (l×b) = (300×150)...
45000 sq. cm
now find the area of dhoti excluding the border......
which is 300 - (20*2) = 260
and..... 150 - (20*2) = 110
now area = (l×b) = 260×110 = 28600 sq. cm
now area of border = (area of dhoti with border - area of dhoti excluding the border).....
= (45000 - 28600) sq. cm = 16400 sq. cm
now, cost for per sq. cm =₹3
and cost for 16400 sq. cm = 16400×3 = ₹ 49200
So, these were my steps.....
