A diagonal of a quadrilateral is 30 cm long and the perpendiculars on it from the opposite vertices are 5.6 cm and 7.4 cm. Find the area of the quadrilateral.​

Given:

AB=30cm

AC =5.6cm

BD = 7.4cm

In Ist trinagle ABC ,

Area of right triangle =

 =  \frac{1}{2}  \times b \times h

 =  \frac{1}{2}  \times 30 \times 5.6

 = 84 {cm}^{2}

Now ,In 2nd triangle ABD

 =   \frac{1}{2}  \times b \times h

 =   \frac{1}{2}  \times 30 \times 7.4

 = 111 {cm}^{2}

Now , the triangle ABC + 2nd triangle ABD

= 84 +111

 = 205 {cm}^{2}
