Answers
A son who had argued with his father on an issue felt sorry when he realized his mistake. When he went to his father to apologize, he had the following conversation with him:
Son: Father, I am really very sorry for my misconduct and outburst!
Father: It is alright son, but you must start learning to control your aggression. I was just trying to show you the other side and the consequences of your actions!
Son: I realize it father. I was in the wrong. I must not have reacted angrily. I myself am unable to understand why I lose my temper so quickly!
Father: It is a matter of age also. Adolescents tend to get angry because of the development of emotional system. Besides, they don’t have experience on their side. Anger and aggression always result in more mistakes, and sometimes in grievous loss. With time you will learn to control your aggression.
Son: Father, I want to request you for one thing. Would you please grant it?
Father: Say, I would like to but only if it is grantable!
Son: in future, if ever we have a heated argument, kindly don’t yell at me; your yelling just makes me lose control over myself.
Father: I promise I will not; but you must learn to keep your cool even at that time. I would advise you just to monitor and watch your thoughts in case you feel the rush of temper going to your head.
Son: Thanks father. I will surely try to follow your tips. Thanks once again.Ashok: "Yes father, I realize how valuable your guidance was. If I had paid heed to your advice we would not have faced all this humiliation."
Father: "Everyone makes mistakes, but if you learn from your mistakes and do not repeat them then it is alright."
Ashok: "Yes father, I am very sorry and I promise that I will never disobey you again."
