A dialogue between a teacher and student about the student’s excuse for not being able to participate in debate competition.

Student: Good Morning Ma'am.

Teacher: Good Morning. What brings you here?

Student: Ma'am, I just wanted to inform you that I will not be able to take part in the upcoming debate competition.

Teacher: Why is that so?

Student: Ma'am, I have some personal functions to attend, for which I will be going to India next week. And the debate is next week. So I won't be able to make it.

Teacher: Okay then. I will have to search for a new student in replace of you. Do you have any suggestions?

Student: I think one of my classmates is good at bringing out opinions and might make a good result of the competition.

Teacher: Okay. Ask him to meet me during the break. And safe journey!

Student: Thank you, ma'am. And yes, I will ask him to meet you.

Hope it helps :)
