Lets take

Initial volume = V₁

Initial pressure = P₁

Final volume = V₂

Final pressure = P₂

Given that

V₂= 0.5 V₁

P₁= P

γ = 1.4 ( for diatomic gas)

We know that ,equation for adiabatic process

P_1V_1^{\gamma}=P_2V_2^{\gamma}\\P_2=P_1V_1^{\gamma}\times \dfrac{1}{V_2^{\gamma}}\\P_2=PV_1^{1.4}\times \dfrac{1}{(0.5V_1)^{1.4}}\\P_2=2.63\ P

Therefore the final pressure of the gas will be 2.63 P.
