A diazonium salt(x) on warming with water gives a compound (A) which on reduction with zinc dust produced C6H5CH3. Identify X?

The final product is C6H5CH3

It is obtained by reduction of compound A with zinc dust. We know that phenol or its derivatives on reduction with zinc dust gives benzene or its derivatives. Hence compound A is phenol with a methyl group attached to it.

So compound X is obviously benzene diazonium chloride with a methyl group attached to it.

The position of methyl group can be anywhere (ortho, para, or meta)
