Answer:

Given

Length of cuboid box(l)=60cm

Breadth of cuboid box(b)=40cm

Height of cuboid box(h)=50cm

Total surface area of cuboidal box =2(lb+bh+hl)

=2(60×40+40×50+50×60)

=2(2400+2000+3000)

=2×7400

=14,800cm

2

Total surface area of cuboidal box=Rs. 14,800cm

2

(b) Side of cube(a)=50cm

Total surface area of a cube=6.a

2

=6×50

2

=6×2500

=1500m

2

Total surface area of a cube=1500cm

2

∴ Hence cuboidal box requires the lesser amount of material to make.
