the probability of a number less than 5 ➡

32+36+44+20
———————
200

132
——
200

 \frac{66}{100}  =  \frac{33}{50}
33/50 is the answer

Concept:

Probability of an event is the chances of getting favourable outcome upon total no.of outcomes

P(X)=favourable outcomes/Total no. of outcomes

Given:

A die is rolled 200 times with the following results. Outcome 1 2 3 4 5 6 Frequency 32 36 44 20 30 38

Find:

Probability of getting a no. less than 5

Solution:

Total no. outcomes=32+36+44+20+30+38

                                  =200

P(1)=32/200=0.16

P(2)=36/200=0.18

P(3)=44/200=0.22

P(4)=20/200=0.1

p(5)=30/200=0.15

P(6)=38/200=0.19

P(X)=0.16+0.18+0.22+0.1+0.15

      =o.81

Therefore, the probability of given event is 0.81
