A die is thrown 50 times and it showed the number one ,23 times. Find the probability of getting a number other than one in the next throw of the dice.

Solution,

The ratio of the number of favorable outcomes to the total number of outcomes of an event is known as probability.

The probability of an event occurring is defined by probability.

Probability (Event) = Favorable Outcomes/Total Outcomes

Here the total outcomes are 6

Unfavorable outcomes are 1

The number of favorable outcomes = Total outcomes – Unfavorable outcomes

Putting the values in the formula:

The number of favorable outcomes = 6 – 1

The number of favorable outcomes = 5

The favorable outcomes are 2,3,4,5,6

Putting the values in the above formula of probability

We will get, probability of an event = 5/6

Hence, the probability of an event is 5/6.
