A die is thrown once ...

S=(1,2,3,4,5,6)

Thus, n(S)=6

Let A be the event where the number is either a multiple of 2 or 3..

A=(2,3,4,6)

Thus,n(A)=4

P(A)= n(A)/n(S)

=4/6

=2/3

Thus, the probability is 2/3.
