Answer:

Explanation:

1) It is defined as the rate of change of distance.

1) It is defined as the rate of change of displacement.

2) It is a scalar quantity.

2) It is a vector quantity.

3) It can never be negative or zero.

3) It can be negative, zero or posituve.

4) Speed is velocity without direction.

4) Velocity is directed speed.

5) Speed may or may not be equal to velocity.

5) A body may possess different velocities but the same speed.

6) Speed never decreases with time. For a moving body, it is never zero.

6) Velocity can decrease with time. For a moving body , it can be zero.

7) Speed in SI is measured in ms-1.

7) Velocity in SI, is measured in ms-1.

If a body is  travelling on a straight path with constant speed we say that  body  have uniform velocity.

We can describe the position of an object just by using the refference point which is also known as the orgin. take the example of vinnie's home is x km from the central park. Here the central park is being used as the refference point or as the orgin.

Hope it helps☺

Answer:

Speed and velocity

Uniform velocity

Position of object

Explanation:

To find:

Difference between speed and velocity. Uniform velocity.

Solution:

(a)

Speed

Speed is the rate at which an object travels a specific distance. It is a scalar quantity because it simply contains magnitude. Speed is a measure of how quickly a thing is moving. Speed can never be negative or zero.It won't matter if the item changes direction because the average speed counter will keep running.

Velocity

The pace at which an object shifts in one direction or another is referred to as its velocity. It gives the object's position and the speed at which it is travelling. Due to the fact that it includes both magnitude and direction, velocity is a vector quantity. Velocity can be either positive, negative, or zero. An object should move in one direction because changing the direction will cause its velocity to change.

(b)

A body is considered to have uniform velocity when it travels the same distance in the same amount of time in a certain direction, regardless of how short or long the time gap may be.

(c)

By using a reference point known as the origin, we may describe the position of an object. For instance, Vishavjeet's house is located 2 kilometres north of the railroad station. Here, the reference point is "railway station".
