the common observation is the preparation of a salt, along with the evolution of hydrogen gas which gives a pop sound on burning.

A dilute acid is added to a piece of metal to form hydrogen gas and metallic salts.

Explanation:

Dilute acid

  • Mixture of acid with the concentration of water is higher than the acid concentration itself. Example of dilute acid is the 5% of H2SO4 acid.

Metal with dilute acid

  • The formation hydrogen gas and metallic salts from metals which react with dilute acids. When hydrogen gas and aluminum chloride is formed from aluminum foil which react to dilute HCl.

            2Al + 6HCl + 2AlCl3 + 3H2

  • It is the balancing equation.
  • The neutral atom is zinc and it lose 2 electrons at the end by charging +2 for two hydrogen atoms.

              Zn + 2HCl → ZnCl2 + H2
