Homozygous loci will produce same type of gametes, so they needn't be considered during calculation.

No of gametes formed by heterozygous loci in diploid organisms is given by -

N = 2^n

N = 2^3

N = 8 gametes

Hence, 8 gametes are formed by the diploid organism.
