Answer:

Electric field at axial position of dipole is 46080 N/C

electric field at equitorial position of dipole is 45000 N/C

Explanation:

As we know that dipole moment is given by formula

P = qd

here we have

q = 5\mu C

d = 8 mm

P = (5 \times 10^{-6})(0.008)

P = 4 \times 10^{-8} Cm

Part a)

Electric field at axial point of the dipole is given as

E = \frac{2kP}{r^3}

here we know that

r = 25 cm

E = \frac{2(9 \times 10^9)(4 \times 10^{-8})}{0.25^3}

E = 46080 N/C

Part b)

At equitorial position of the dipole we will have

E = \frac{kP}{r^3}

here we have

r = 20 cm

E = \frac{(9\times 10^9)(4 \times 10^{-8})}{0.20^3}

E = 45000 N/C
