A direct variation function is given by y = Kx , here k is constant
Let equation y = Kx satisfied both the given points ( -8, - 6) and (12,9)
For (-8, -6) ,
⇒-6 = K × (-8)
⇒3 = 4K
⇒ K = 3/4 , so function will be y = 3x/4
Now check by putting (12,9).
9 = 3 × 12/4 = 3 × 3
Hence, y = 3x/4 is answer
