We know, MI of the disc about the axis XX' is
Here, Iав = Moment of inertia of the system about axis AB
I = mR²/A
MI of the plate about AB
Iав = mR²/12
From parallel axis theorem,
IXX' = Iав + m × (R + R/2)² = mR²/2 + m× (BR/2)²
= mR²/2 + 9/4mR²
= 11/4mR²
thus I total = mR²/2 + 11mR62/4
