GIVEN :-

  • Marked price is 15000Rs.
  • Discount is 5%.

 \\

TO FIND :-

  • Selling price of the article.

 \\

SOLUTION :-

5% of discount is offered on 15000Rs. Discount means the amount is reduced by 5%. So the customer has to pay only 95% of the marked price.

Discount is given 5% on 15000.

So, selling price will be 5% less than 15000.

Selling price = 15000 - 5% of 15000

 \\ \implies \sf \: selling \: price = 15000 - 5\% \: of \: 15000 \\ \\ \implies\sf \: selling \: price = 15000 - \frac{5}{ \cancel{100}} (150 \cancel{00}) \\ \\ \implies\sf \: selling \: price = 15000 - 5(150) \\ \\ \implies\sf \: selling \: price = 15000 - 750 \\ \\ \implies\underbrace{\boxed{ \sf \: selling \: price = 14250Rs}} \\

Hence , selling price of the article is 14250Rs.
