A dishonest shopkeeper added 5 kg of sawdust to 20 kg of chilli
powder. He sold this mixture at Rs 50 a kg. If he had bought chilli
powder at Rs 35 per kg, what was his profit? anyone please help me​

Answer:

cost price:-

cost of 1 kg - 35/-

so cost of 20 kg = 35x20 =700

so total cost price is 700

now selling price

amount of mixture he sold = 20kg(chilli) +5kg( saw dust) = 25 kg

selling price of one kg = rs 50

selling price of 25 kg = 25x50= 1250

profit = selling price - cost price

=> rs 1250 - rs 700

= rs 550

CP = 20×35 = Rs 700

SP = 25×50 = Rs 1250

P = SP- CP

= 1250-700= 550
