Suppose the cost price of 1 gm is x.

So,

         $SP = 1000 x$

he claims to be giving 1 kg weight

        $CP = 900 x$

the goods he actually gives is 900 gm  

So,

      $\% \ Gain = \frac{1000x - 900x }{900x} \times 100$

      $\% \ Gain = \frac{100x }{900x} \times 100$

      $\% \ Gain = \frac{100}{9} \%$

      $\% \ Gain = 11 \times \frac{1}{9} \%$

Thus, The gain present = $11\frac{1}{9} \%$
