We know that the ratio will be as follows.

\texttt{Actual distance : Distance on map}

\texttt{500km : 5cm}

According to the question, we know that the distance between Raipur and Rajmundri is 8cm on the map. So we have to write this in the form of a ratio.

\texttt{ 500km : 5cm}

\texttt{ x km : 8cm}

To obtain the actual distance we can use the L-method. Here we have to multiply 500km with 8cm and the product shall be divided by 5cm later on.

(500 \times  8) \div  5

4000\div5

800

∴ The actual distance between the cities is 800km if they are 8cm apart on the map.

Actual distance: Distance on map

500 km:5cm

According to the question the distance between the cities is 8 cm on the map so we write it down as a ratio

500km : 5 cm

?km: 8 cm

To find the actual distance we can use the The limited this means that 500 km is multiplied with 8 cm when divided by 5 cm if the result is

(500×8)/5=800
