The produced gas can be identified by bringing a burning splinter near the gas (mouth of the reaction vessel). The gas burns with a pop sound, hence it is hydrogen gas.

The produced gas is hydrogen.

Keep the match stick near the mouth of beaker, when the gas is released out of the beaker, the match stick put off And gets pop sound.

Hence proved.
