Water has particles of matter which have space between them. This space is the maximum in the gases and the minimum in liquid. Thus, one cannot cut through a solid easily but a diver is able to cut easily through water.

A is able to cut through water in the swimming pool because of the following reason :

• Water is a fluid , i.e. it can flow .

• The force of attraction between the particles of water is not strong.

• The particles are having empty space.
