Step-by-step explanation:

A diver was collecting water samples from a lake. He collected a sample at every interval of 3 m ,starting at 5 m below the water surface.The final sample was collected at a depth of 35 m.

Let , Total samples he collect = x

So, from from above information we get :

3 ( x - 1 ) + 5 = 35 , Here we take ( x - 1 ) because one sample he collected at 5 m below .

3 ( x - 1 ) = 30 ,

3 x - 3 = 30 ,

3 x = 33 ,

x = 11

Therefore,

Total samples he collects = 11
