  • 1st sample  collected at 5 m

  • 2nd sample collected at 5 + 3 1  m

  • 3rd sample collected at 5 + 3 2  m

Hence nth sample collected = 5 + 3*(n -1 )  m

5 + 3(n -1 ) = 35

  • n - 1 = 10

  • n = 11

Hence 11 samples collected.

Answer:

1st sample collected at 5 m

2nd sample collected at 5 + 3 1 m

3rd sample collected at 5 + 3 2 m

Hence nth sample collected = 5 + 3*(n -1 ) m

5 + 3(n -1 ) = 35

n - 1 = 10

n = 11

Hence 11 samples collected.
