first he take sample from 5m below at last from 35m depth  so total distance of tested= 35-5 = 30 at every 3m he took sample  so no. of times he collect sample= 30/3+1 = 10 + 1 = 11  because for 5th metre we have take one sample and starts taking the sample.    #hope it helps #mark as brainliest

Given : A diver collecting sample from a  lake

Samples being collected at interval of 3 m starting at 5 m below the water surface

Final sample collected at 35 m

To Find : How many samples collected

Solution:

1st sample  collected at 5 m

2nd sample collected at 5 + 3*1  m

3rd sample collected at 5 + 3*2  m

Hence nth sample collected = 5 + 3*(n -1 )  m

5 + 3*(n -1 ) = 35

=> n - 1 = 10

=>  n = 11

Hence 11 samples collected
