A divers descends 20 feet in water from the boat at the surface of a lake he than rose 12 feet and descends anothet 18 feet . at this point what is his depth in water?

When a diver descends 20 feet, the depth of water here is 20 feet

The diver then ascends 12 feet;

Depth of water = 20 - 12 

                         = 8 feet

The diver then descends another 18 feet

The depth of water here = 8 + 18

                                       = 26 feet

Then he Dives 20 feet into the Water,  Depth=20 feets
Then he rises 12 feet ,  Depth = 20-12 =8 feets
Then he again descends 18 feet, Depth = 8+18 = 26 feets
