Given:

a doctor observed that the pulse rate of 4 students is 72,3 students in 78,2 students is 80

To Find:

find the mean pulse rate of the above students

Solution:

It is given that a doctor observed the pulse rate of 4 students as 72, 3 students as 78 and 2 students as 80 and we have to find the mean pulse rate of the students, firstly we should know the formula for mean, which is,

                                  Mean=\frac{\sum pulse}{n}

where,

          n= total number of students

Now putting the values of pulse rate in the formula to find the mean, we have

Mean=\frac{4*72+3*78+2*80}{4+3+2} \\=\frac{682}{9}\\=75.77

Hence, the mean pulse rate of the given students is 75.77.
