(a). Yes, During photosynthesis the leaves open to allow passage of carbon dioxide and Transpiration occurs when water evaporates from a plant. The plant will absorb water through the roots.The transpiration bags collect water while you work on other important tasks such as shelter building.

(b). (2)The bag on the normal leafy plant collects more water.This is because cactus has modified itself to minimise transpiration. This it looses much less water in the form of vapours as compared to the normal leafy plant.It has needle shaped leaves with very less amount of stomata.
