Given - Time after which echo was heard - 0.4 second

Speed of sound - 340 m/s

Find - Distance between the dog and the building.

Solution - The distance between dog and building can be calculated by the formula - v = 2d/t.

In the formula, v is speed of sound, d is distance and t is time.

Keeping the values in equation-

2d = v*t

2d = 340*0.4

2d = 136

d = 68 metres.

Hence, the distance between the dog and the

building is 68 metres.
