A dog runs back and forth between friends who are walking towards one another with a speed of
0.5 ms–1. The dog starts running when the friends were 15 m apart with a speed of 3 ms–1. How far has
the dog traveled when the friends meet?

the time after which the both friends meet is 15s because  the total distance is 15m and they both are walking towards each other this implies that the distance between them is reduced by 7.5m (half of 15m because they both are travelling towards each other then 7.5m/0.5ms^-2 is equal to 15seconds so after 15 seconds they will meet. and the dog is travelling at  speed 3m/s so 15s*3ms^-1 which gives you 45 why I multiplied time with velocity you might ask it is because d/t=v so v*t=d
