From the path of the dog we can find

y -x =0.

Then,

x =y...............(1).

The path of the cat is

x² +y² =8..................(2)

Sub. (1) in (2)

2 x² =8

X =±2 ...

Similarly from (2)

y =±2

The coordinate point is (2,2) or (-2,-2).
