Mass of the dog= m=25 kg

Height of fence= h= 1.6 m

Acceleration due to gravity=g=10 m/s²

∴Potential energy of dog= m.g.h

                                         = 25×10×1.6

                                         = 25×16

                                         = 400 kgm²/s²

                                         = 400 J

The potential energy of dog at the top of fence is 400 J

Explanation:

Given that,

Mass of the dog, m = 25 kg

Height, h = 1.6 m

Let E is the potential energy of the dog at the top of the fence. We know that the energy associated by an object due to its position is called potential energy. It is given by :

E=mgh

E=25\ kg\times 10\ m/s^2\times 1.6\ m

E = 400 J

So, the potential energy of dog at the top of fence is 400 J. Hence, this is the required solution.
