a door of a length 2m and breadth 1m is fitted in a wall the length of the wall is 4.5 M and the length is 3.6 M find the cost of the white washing of the wall if the rate of the whitewashing walls is rupees 20 per metre square ????

Hi

First let's find the area of the door

Length of door = 2

Breadth of door = 1

Area = L*b = 2*1 = 2m sq.


Now find the area of wall

Length of wall = 4.5m

Breadth of wall = 3.6m

Area of wall = L*b = 4.5*3.6= 16.2m sq


As door is fitted in the wall that much area of door will be removed from the area of wall

Area of wall - Area of door

16.2 - 2 = 14.2 m sq.


Now cost of whitewashing per m sq. Is Rs 20 then cost of total whitewash will be

14.2*20 = Rs 284
