a door of breadth 1m and height 2m is fitted in a wall. The length of of the wall is 4.5m and the height is 3.6m. Find the cost of white washing the wall, if the rate of white washing the wall is ¥20 per m^2​

Area of door

breath of the door = 1m

height of the door = 2m

total area of the door = breath × height

= 1m ×2m

= 2m²

Area of wall

length of the wall = 4.5m

height of the wall = 3.6m

total are of the wall = length × height

= 4.5m×3.6m

= 16.2m²

Area of white washing the wall excluding the door = Area of wall - Area of door is given by

= 16.2m² - 2m²

= 14.2m²

as given in question cost of white washing is ¥20/m²

= 14.2m² × ¥20

= ¥284
