A door of length 2.5m and breadth 3. 5m is fixed in a wall. The length of the wall is 6.5m and 3.5m,. Find the cost of whitewashing the wall at the rate of Rs. 15 per sq. M

the area of wall= l×b
=6.5×3.5
=22.75m²

the area of the door=l×b
=3.5×2.5
=8.75m²

the area to be white washed = area of wall- area of door

=22.75-8.75

=14m²

hence the rate = 14×15
=210 rupees..
