(a) Draw a velocity-time graph for an object in uniform motion. Show that the slope of
velocity time-graph gives acceleration of the body.
(b) An aeroplane starts from rest with an acceleration of 3 ms–2 and takes a run for 35 s before
taking off. What is the minimum length of runway and with what velocity the plane took off?

the answer of b part is s=1837.5m and v=105m/s
as acc=3m/s2
t=35 sec
u=0(as in que. it starts from rest)
so using s=ut+1/2at2
putting the values
s=1/2x3x(35)2
s=1837.5m

now using v=u+at
putting values
v=0+3x35
v=105m/s

sanshri2010: a part the graph will be straight line and it will be parallel to time axis.
sanshri2010: as duting uniform motion the acc=0 so the graph will be parallel to time axis .
sanshri2010: now we know that slope of an graph is dv/dt and we know that this dv/dt is equal to acc hence the slope will be acc and we know that acc. os zero so slope also must be zero.
sanshri2010: if u stilll have an doubt u can ask me..
