Given,

The length of the room is = 7.5 metres

The width of the room is = 6.5 metres

The height of the room is = 7 metres

Width of the paper = 2.5 dm

To find,

The length of the paper.

Solution

First of all, we need to calculate the area of the walls by using the following mathematical formula,

= 2×(length of floor + width of floor) × height

= 2 × (7.5+6.5) × 6

= 168m²

The actual area of the walls

= Total area of wall - Area of door

= 168-8

= 160m²

= 16000 dm²

[ Term of the unit conversion 1 m²= 100dm²]

Length of the paper = 16000÷2.5 = 6400 dm = 640 m

[Term of unit conversion 1 m = 10 dm]

Hence, the length of the paper is 640 metres. (option b)
