1)consider the cp to be =Rs x
so gain %= gain/cp *100
20= gain/x *100
gain= 20x/100
so sp will be= cp+gain= Rs x+ 20x/100= Rs 120x/100 or 12x/10
2)so now new sp= Rs 12x/10+1000
and sp = gain+cp
12x/10+1000= gain + x
gain= 12x/10-x+1000
= 2x/10 +1000
new gain %= gain/cp *100
20= 2x/10 + 1000/ x*100
on solving we get x which is the ans ;))
so gain %= gain/cp *100
20= gain/x *100
gain= 20x/100
so sp will be= cp+gain= Rs x+ 20x/100= Rs 120x/100 or 12x/10
2)so now new sp= Rs 12x/10+1000
and sp = gain+cp
12x/10+1000= gain + x
gain= 12x/10-x+1000
= 2x/10 +1000
new gain %= gain/cp *100
20= 2x/10 + 1000/ x*100
on solving we get x which is the ans ;))
