Answer a diver is able to cut through water in a swimming pool . As the particles of water have large intermolecular space and less force of attraction

Explanation: The diver is able to cut through water in a swimming pool. This observation shows that the matter has spaces between them so that the particles can move from one place to another to accommodate the body of the diver.

From the above observation, we could conclude that the diver is able to cut through water in the pool because matter is not continous, rather it is made up of particulate in nature. Moreover. the interparticular force of attraction is less and not much strong as that of solid. The diver could easily pierce through water and displace to occupy it's place.

Explanation:-

From a long time, Since people knew about matter, there were two kinda views:

  • Matter is continuous in nature.
  • Matter is particulate in nature.

Finally after many experiments and observations, we concluded that matter is particulate in nature.

How?

Let's see an example. Take a sheet of glass and throw it in the floor. (⚠️ Take care, it can be injurious). It breaks into small pieces, so we can say that it is made up of small particles. But a time comes, when the matter is no more divisible. The entire universe is made up of matter or energy. The matter is made up of atom or molecules.
