A driver travelling at speed 36 kmh-' sees the light turn red at the intersection. If his reaction time is
0.6s, and then the car can deaccelerate at 4ms. Find the stopping distance of the car.​

so,

u=10ms    reacn.time (t)=0.6s      v=0          s=?

step1⇒ distance travelled in reaction time→

⇒ s=uxt     ⇒ s=10x0.6    ⇒ 6m.

step2⇒ distance travelled in deaccln. time→

v²=u²+2as

s=v²-u²÷2as

s= 0-(10)²÷2x(-4) ⇒ s=12.5m

adding step1 and step2 (i.e total distance)

12.5+6⇒18.5m
