Initial velocity(u) : 54 km/hr
=54 * 5/18
= 15 m/s
Final velocity(v) : 0 m/s
Distance(s) : 57m - 75cm
= 57 - 3/4
= 225/4 m
Formula :
v² = u² + 2as
= 0² = 15² + 2 * a * 225/4
= 0 = 225 + 112.5a
→ a = -225/112.5
= a = -2m/s²
Acceleration is negative showing retardation.
Formula :
v = u + at
= 0 = 15 + (-2) * t
= 0 = 15 - 2t
→ 2t = 15
= t = 7.5 sec
Time taken is 7.5 seconds
