Answer:

2.69 : 1

Step-by-step explanation:

A drum contain 20l of a paint. From this 2l of paint is taken out and replaced by 2l of oil.Again 2l of this mixture is replaced by 2l of oil.If the operation is performed once again. Then final ratio of the paint and oil in the drum would be

Drum contain 20 L itre  Paint

2l of paint is taken out and replaced by 2l of oil

after first step  : 18 L Paint  & 2L oil

then 2L removed conatins   (18/20)*2 = 1.8L  Paint  & 0.2 Litre oil

so after 2nd Step Paint = 18 - 1.8 = 16.2 L   & oil = 3.8 L

next time  2L removed conatins (16.2/20) *2 = 1.62 L  paint  & 0.38 L oil

so after Final Step Paint = 16.2 - 1.62 = 14.58 L   & oil = 5.42 L

final ratio of the paint and oil in the drum would be = 14.58 : 5.42

= 2.69 : 1
