Given,

The volume of oil in the drum = 250 liters.

The percentage of oil lost due to leakage = 5%

To Find,

The volume of oil lost due to leakage.

Solution,

Initial volume of oil = 100% = 250 liters.

The final volume of oil = Initial volume - volume lost due to leakage

⇒100%-5% = 95%.

100250

95x

On cross multiplication,

x = \frac{(95)(250)}{100}

x = 237.5

Henceforth, the final volume of oil in the drum is 237.5 liters.
