\huge\mathfrak\blue{Answer:}

Given:

  • Given that a drum is 3/4 full
  • 30 litres are taken out
  • After taking out 30 litres, 7/12 of drum is left

To Find:

  • To find the capacity of drum.

Solution:

Let the capacity of drum = x

According to the Question

 =  >  \dfrac{3}{4}x - 30 =  \dfrac{7}{12}x

 =  >  \dfrac{3}{4}x -  \dfrac{7}{12} x = 30

Taking 12 as LCM, we get

 =  >  \dfrac{(3x \times 3) - 7x}{12}  = 30

 =  >  \dfrac{(9x - 7x)}{12}  = 30

 =  >   \dfrac{2x}{12}  = 30

 =  > 2x = 30 \times 12

 =  > x = 30 \times 6

 =  > x = 180

The capacity of drum is 180 litres
