Hey mate !!!!!!!!
Let the capacity of drum be x litres.
The water in drum is 2/3x
according to question,
2/3x-20=1/2
(2/3-1/2)x=20
1/6x=20
x=120 .
Therefore the capacity of tank is 120 litres.
Water in drum when it is 2/3rd fill =2/3×120=80
=80 litres

Answer:

The capacity of the drum when filled is 120 litres and when it was 2/3 full it had 80 litres.

Step-by-step explanation:

As per the given data, A drum of water was 2/3 full.

When 20 liters were drawn from it, it became half full.

We have to find out the drum's capacity and how much water it contained when it was 2/3 full.

Let the capacity of the drum be X when filled.

As we know, 20 liters were drawn out from the drum.

So, the equation can be written as  \frac{2}{3} X-20=\frac{1}{2} X

So, \frac{2}{3}X-\frac{1}{2} X=20

\frac{4}{6}X-\frac{3}{6}X=20

\frac{1}{6}X=20

X=20\times6

X=120 litres

When the drum was 2/3rd full the water contained by the drum was \frac{2}{3}\times120=80 litres
