Answer:

40sec

Step-by-step explanation:

(6×1÷2)-(4×1÷2)=1m

[6×1sec]+[4×1sec]=10sec

for 1m he travells 10sec

for 4m he travells 4×10sec=40sec

Answer:

40 seconds

Step-by-step explanation:

In 6 steps, he will cover 6*1/2= 3 m

but, he will move back 4 steps

in 4 steps, he will go back = 4*1/2= 2 m

so total distance covered = 3 m - 2 m

= 1 m

Time taken to cover this 1 m = 6*1 + 4*1 = 6+4

= 10 s

Therefore, he covers total 1 m only in 10 seconds.

The pit is 4 m away from his starting point.

So, to cover 4 m, he will need = 10*4 = 40 seconds   [since he covers 1 m in 10  seconds].
