Answer:

let total capacity be x

(1/3)x+60=x

x-(1/3)x=60

(2/3)x=60

x=90ltrs

so option B is correct

Answer:

let's assume the capacity of drum be x.

according to 1 condition

1/3x + 60 litres = x

1/3x - x = - 60

x/3 - x = - 60

3(x/3 - x) = 3(- 60)______Multipling both sides of equation by 3.

x - 3x = - 180

- 2x = - 180

- 2x/- 2 = - 180/- 2________Dividing both sides of equation by - 2.

x = 90 ________cancel the terms.

now we had assume the value of capacity of drum as x

Hence, capacity of drum = x = 90 litres.
