SOLUTION-

  • Cost price of the DVD player = ₹ 14000
  • Loss per cent = 8%

selling price of the DVD player =

 = ( \dfrac{100 - loss\%}{100} ) \times cp

 = ( \dfrac{100  - 8}{100} ) \times ₹  \: 14000

 =   \dfrac{92}{100}  \times 14000

= ₹ 12880

  • Cost price of the music system = ₹ 14000
  • gain per cent = 16%

selling price of the music system =

 = ( \dfrac{100 - gain\%}{100} ) \times cp

 = ( \dfrac{100  - 16}{100} ) \times ₹  \: 14000

 =   \dfrac{116}{100}  \times 14000

= ₹ 16240

Total CP of the DVD player and the music system = ₹ (14000 + 14000) = ₹ 28000

Total SP of the DVD player and the music system = ₹ (12880 + 16240) = ₹ 29120

Since SP > CP, there is a gain in the whole transaction.

Gain = ₹ ( 29120 - 28000 ) = ₹ 1120

★ Gain per cent = ( \dfrac{gain}{cp}  \times 100)\%

 = (  \dfrac{1120}{28000}  \times 100)\%

= 4 %

Hence, the gain on the whole transaction is 4%

SOLUTION-

Cost price of the DVD player = ₹ 14000

Loss per cent = 8%

selling price of the DVD player =

= ₹ 12880

Cost price of the music system = ₹ 14000

gain per cent = 16%

selling price of the music system =

= ₹ 16240

Total CP of the DVD player and the music system = ₹ (14000 + 14000) = ₹ 28000

Total SP of the DVD player and the music system = ₹ (12880 + 16240) = ₹ 29120

Since SP > CP, there is a gain in the whole transaction.

Gain = ₹ ( 29120 - 28000 ) = ₹ 1120

★ Gain per cent =
